How to Sell Wedding Invitation Templates Over 20MB on Etsy
A wedding suite is never one card. Invitation, RSVP, details card, menu, program, welcome sign — each exported as a print-ready 300 DPI PDF with bleed and crop marks, because that's the file a print shop will actually accept. Then each one again in A-series, because plenty of your buyers are printing on A5 and A4. That's 12 to 30 files before anyone types a name into the template.
The signage is what breaks it. An 18×24 in welcome sign at 300 DPI is 5,400 × 7,200 pixels. A 24×36 in seating chart is 7,200 × 10,800 — 78 megapixels. Either one can outweigh the entire card suite. The weight is in the pixel count, and pixel count scales with area. A 5×7 card at 300 DPI is about 3 megapixels. The 24×36 seating chart is 78. Put a watercolor wash or a linen texture behind the type — the aesthetic this niche sells on — and the flattened export is tens of megabytes before you place a single guest name.

The workarounds sellers use — and what they cost
Every wedding invitation templates seller has tried at least one of these.
1. Deliver the Canva link and nothing else
Skip the print files entirely. The buyer edits in Canva and exports their own PDF.
The problem: Crop marks and bleed live behind a download option buyers don't know to look for, and A-series sizing trips them again. The print shop receives a no-bleed file, trims into the type, and the couple blames your template.
2. Downsample the signage until it fits
Export the 24×36 seating chart at 150 DPI, or compress it until it clears the cap.
The problem: A seating chart is read from a few feet away by every guest who walks in. Soft type at that size is obvious to the whole room, and it's the one file that gets photographed and posted.
3. Split the suite across listings
Cards in one Etsy listing, signage in another, home-print sheets in a third.
The problem: Buyers who bought 'the full suite' didn't buy three listings. They message you the week of the wedding asking where the welcome sign is, and you're delivering files manually from your phone at dinner.
4. Zip everything into one archive
Compress the whole suite so it lands in a single Etsy file slot.

5. Put a Dropbox or Drive link in the PDF
Etsy delivers a one-page PDF; the real files sit in a shared folder. It feels normal here — a link PDF is already how the Canva template gets delivered.
The problem: It works until a couple downloads on a locked-down work Google account, or you reorganize the folder in the off-season and last spring's buyer can't get their program the night before the rehearsal.
